Description
Tiếng Việt Thực Hành Lớp 1 is a structured workbook for young heritage learners growing up outside Vietnam and learning Vietnamese as a second language. It works best with a teacher or parent, though its clear sequence also supports guided study at home.
It opens with a written guide to letter names, sounds, spelling, and pronunciation. The 18 lessons move through vowel patterns such as ai, oi, ôi, ơi, am, ăm, and âm. Activities include reading and copying words, dictation, short passages, vocabulary, and comprehension questions. English support is mostly brief word glosses, not full translations.
The back section provides a quiz after every three lessons plus larger tests, making progress checks easy for adults. The main drawback is the repetitive, print-based approach. There is no audio or pronunciation feedback and little conversation practice, so a Vietnamese-speaking adult will make the book much more useful.
