Vietnam Now! A Vietnamese Language Reader
Parallel Vietnamese-English reader with graded newspaper texts, a short story, poems, notes, exercises, photos, and online audio.
Alfie's Angels is a paid Vietnamese-English dual-language picture book from Mantra Lingua. It is aimed at children around 5 to 8 and works best for families, heritage learners, and beginners who want very simple reading practice with lots of picture support.
The story follows Alfie, a boy who wants to be an angel in a school show. The Vietnamese and English text appear together, so you can use the English to check meaning while building confidence with basic Vietnamese reading. It is short enough to finish in one sitting, which makes it easy to reread and revisit key words.
What it does well is make reading feel approachable. The theme of individuality gives you something real to talk about instead of isolated vocabulary. The downside is that it is still a children's picture book, so you will not get structured lessons, grammar explanations, or much depth beyond beginner reading. If you want speaking practice or a full course, this will need to be paired with something else.
