The book includes 28 newspaper articles, one short story, and two poems, with Vietnamese and English shown side by side. The texts are grouped from easier to harder, and each selection comes with vocabulary lists, grammar and culture notes, exercises, photos, and online audio. What it does well is context. You get current topics, everyday life, and a feel for how Vietnamese is used outside beginner dialogues.
