Lingora

Lingora is a mobile app for beginners who want a more structured Vietnamese course than a simple phrase app. The Vietnamese course is built around 500 short lessons that aim to take you from zero to about A1 level. A nice detail is that it offers both Northern and Southern Vietnamese, which is still uncommon in beginner apps.

Each lesson focuses on one sentence. You study the line, tap into individual words, read word-by-word notes, and then review it with quizzes. The app also includes a vocabulary trainer with flashcards, multiple choice, sentence rebuilding, and tone practice for Vietnamese. If you like learning through small chunks and repeated review, that setup is easy to stick with.

What it does well is give you clear grammar support without turning into a textbook. The sentence-first design helps you see how words fit together, and the separate Northern and Southern audio is genuinely useful if dialect matters to you. It is also still active, with recent updates on the app stores and ongoing course additions across languages.

The main limitation is scope. Lingora is strongest as a beginner study app, not a full path to intermediate Vietnamese. It gives you guided listening, vocabulary, grammar, and pronunciation practice, but not much real conversation practice. If you want a focused app for daily study, it makes sense. If you need speaking with real people, you will need other resources alongside it.
