iLanguages is a simple free website for beginner Vietnamese study. It is best if you want a quick reference for common words and everyday phrases rather than a full course. On the main Vietnamese page, you get short sections for vocabulary, phrases, grammar, flashcards, a word review tool, a quiz, and a letters page.

The strongest part is how direct it is. The site focuses on high frequency words, basic sentence patterns, and useful travel style phrases, with audio on the core vocabulary and phrase pages. You can move from a word list to a phrase list, then use the flashcards and quiz to check what you remember. That makes it easy to use for short study sessions or as a backup resource alongside another program.

The tradeoff is depth. This is not a structured course, so it will not take you step by step through pronunciation, tones, or conversation practice. The grammar explanations are brief, and there is not much support for intermediate learners once you move past the basics. If you want a lightweight free site to pick up essential Vietnamese words and phrases, it does the job well. If you want speaking practice or deeper lessons, you will need something else too.
