Description

Video Vocab is a small study website from Kolja Sam that uses real YouTube videos as the center of your study. For Vietnamese, it gives you a curated set of clips and helps you learn the words you need so the video becomes easier to follow. It suits self-directed learners who like immersion but still want some structure before jumping into native content.

The main idea is simple. You study vocabulary connected to a specific video, then watch short sections and rate how well you understood them. That makes it more focused than just watching random YouTube with subtitles on. The Vietnamese course data on the site is built around a list of selected videos, so you are not starting from scratch every time.

What it does well is vocabulary and listening in context. What it does not do well is everything else. There is very little grammar teaching, no speaking practice, and no teacher feedback. The Vietnamese content also looks fairly limited, so it works better as a focused study tool than as your only resource.
