Video Vocab is a free browser-based study site for self-directed learners who want to work with authentic Vietnamese YouTube clips. It is best used as a listening and vocabulary supplement, not as a step-by-step course.
You work through short clip segments with different prompts. Before watching, the site may show three key words with English translations or ask you to listen for the gist, mood, gestures, or how vocabulary is used. Some rounds ask you to repeat part of the clip and record yourself. A relaxed mode plays videos with vocabulary cards overlaid.
The focused prompts make native-speed content less passive and give you a reason to watch closely. However, there are only about 30 listed Vietnamese videos, no published CEFR levels, little direct grammar teaching, and no correction of written or recorded responses.
