Loecsen’s Vietnamese website is a self-paced A1 course for complete beginners, especially travelers and learners who want practical phrases before deeper study. The 17 chapters cover greetings, numbers, transport, restaurants, hotels, family, feelings, and emergencies.

Each expression pairs Vietnamese text with recorded Northern audio. You listen, repeat, reorder sentences, choose meanings, fill in missing words, and work through spaced reviews. Notes explain tones, pronouns, word-by-word meaning, and grammar in context. The site also offers AI dialogue practice for common situations.

The free core gives you a clear path and plenty of short practice, with optional paid enhancements. It is useful for pronunciation, listening, and survival vocabulary, but the Vietnamese track stops at A1 and stays close to travel and everyday basics. You will still need broader reading, writing, and conversation with people to progress.
