Lingora
Beginner Vietnamese app with 500 sentence-based lessons, word-by-word notes, quizzes, and vocab review in both Northern and Southern audio.
HiNative is a language exchange style app built around short questions and answers from native speakers. For Vietnamese learners, it works best when you want to check how something sounds, ask what a word means, or see how a sentence would be said naturally. It is beginner friendly because you can use preset question formats instead of writing everything from scratch.
You can post text, upload audio for pronunciation feedback, and add photos of signs, menus, or other real-world Vietnamese. Native speakers reply with corrections, example sentences, and follow-up explanations. The app also lets you search a large archive of past questions, which is useful when you want a fast answer without waiting for new replies.
What it does well is targeted feedback. If you are stuck on one phrase, one grammar point, or one pronunciation question, you can usually get a more human answer than a dictionary gives you. The free version is usable, but some listening and visibility features are part of Premium. It is less useful if you want a full Vietnamese course, step by step lessons, or guaranteed high quality on every answer.
