Description
Migaku is a paid iOS and Android app for learners who want to build Vietnamese skills from content they choose. It works best once you are ready to learn from YouTube, pasted text, photos, books, signs, or other real-world material rather than follow a conventional course.
In the app, you can tap words in subtitles or text for definitions, native pronunciation, translations, and AI sentence breakdowns. Useful words can become media-rich flashcards with the source sentence, image, and audio. Spaced repetition then schedules reviews, and cards can be studied offline.
The main strength is the short path from finding an unknown word to reviewing it in context. It supports listening, reading, and vocabulary without forcing you into canned topics. The tradeoff is structure. Migaku does not currently offer a Vietnamese beginner course, and it does not provide speaking practice or teacher feedback. You also need a paid subscription after the free trial.
