Tiếng Việt Thực Hành Lớp 3 is a structured workbook for children in overseas Vietnamese families who are learning Vietnamese as a second language. It is aimed at Grade 3 heritage learners and is better suited to a class, weekend school, or parent-guided study than to adult self-study.

The book opens with a pronunciation and spelling guide, then follows 18 lessons that move from vowel patterns and word practice into longer readings. Each lesson uses copying, fill-in-the-blank tasks, vocabulary with English glosses, reading questions, and sentence-building prompts. Readings draw on family life, holidays, folktales, history, morals, and general knowledge.

The repetition and built-in assessment make progress easy to organize. Six quizzes plus mid-course and final exams are collected at the back. However, there is no audio or answer key, and the worksheet-heavy approach offers little independent speaking or listening practice. Younger learners will often benefit from a teacher or parent explaining vocabulary and checking their work.
