Description
Beelinguapp is a reading based language app that lets you learn Vietnamese by following bilingual stories and articles on your phone. You read Vietnamese next to your stronger language while listening to audio, so it works best if you want guided input rather than a full lesson course. Beginners can use it, but it is especially useful once you want more exposure to real sentences and short texts.
The main draw is the parallel text format. As you read, the text moves along with the audio and you can tap into the translation when you need help. The app says its library includes stories, news, music based content, and children’s books, with quizzes at the end of stories and a glossary plus flashcards for vocabulary review. You can see how it works on the official site and the Vietnamese page on their course listing.
What it does well is make reading and listening feel approachable, especially if plain Vietnamese text still feels too hard. What it does not do well is replace a structured course. You are not getting much explicit grammar teaching or real speaking practice, so most learners will need something else alongside it. Recent app store and Reddit comments also suggest the experience can feel uneven depending on the language and content, so it is worth trying the free version before paying.
