This is the second book in Nguyễn Việt Hương's Tiếng Việt cơ sở series for foreigners learning Vietnamese. It suits beginners who already know some basics and want a more textbook-style path through everyday Vietnamese, especially in a class or guided self-study setup.

The book is organized into 12 units with review lessons in between. Topics cover common situations like asking for directions, telling time, talking about the weather, shopping, family, and making phone calls. Each lesson combines dialogue, core vocabulary, grammar notes, and follow-up practice, so you are building more than a travel phrase list.

What it does well is structure. If you like progressing lesson by lesson, it gives you a clear path and plenty to work through across 274 pages. The tradeoff is that it is still a traditional textbook. You do not get live correction or real conversation practice, and if you need lots of English support or a very gentle start, this second volume may feel demanding without a teacher or Quyển 1 first.
