Speak Saigon is a browser-based, Southern-first Vietnamese course for learners who want to communicate in Ho Chi Minh City or with Southern-speaking family. It starts with the alphabet and five-tone Southern system, then builds through short units covering everyday vocabulary, grammar, listening, reading, and speaking. A Northern course mode is also available in beta.
Lessons combine generated Saigon-accent audio, matching games, tone drills, stories, and spaced review. The standout tool lets you record a word and compare your pitch curve with a reference, which gives pronunciation practice more structure than simple listen-and-repeat exercises. Pro users also get AI conversations and tone practice for text they enter.
You can complete 10 units free, with review and progress tracking included. The paid plan unlocks all 32 units. The main drawback is that the audio is synthetic rather than recorded by native speakers, and conversation feedback comes from AI instead of a teacher.
