Description

Drops is a gamified mobile app for beginners and busy learners who want to build Vietnamese vocabulary in short sessions. It works best as a daily supplement rather than a complete Vietnamese course.

Each session pairs written words and common phrases with illustrations and native audio, then tests you through taps, swipes, matching, and quizzes. Review tools such as Dojo, favorites, and the word collection bring items back for spaced practice. The Vietnamese audio is Southern-accented, although learners report that the word choices are not consistently Southern.

The free tier gives you five minutes every ten hours and unlocks topics in order. Premium removes the time limit, lets you choose topics, adds offline access, and includes auto-play audio. Vietnamese does not have the app's newer grammar lessons, and speaking assessment was removed in March 2026, so you will need another resource for grammar, conversation, and corrective speaking practice.
