I Love Languages
Free website with 18 beginner Vietnamese lessons, vocabulary tables, short grammar notes, common phrases, and audio for word and phrase practice.
Phrasebook Tiếng Việt For Beginners is Goethe Verlag's free book2 website for absolute beginners. It gives you 100 short Vietnamese lessons built around everyday situations, so it works well if you want a simple starting point for travel phrases, basic speaking, or quick daily study without making an account.
Each lesson pairs short text with audio from native speakers. The course says no prior grammar knowledge is needed, and the lessons move through greetings, travel, shopping, directions, numbers, questions, and other common situations. You can also download the MP3 files as zip archives for offline listening, which is useful if you like to repeat lessons while commuting or walking.
What it does well is structure and accessibility. The lessons are short, clearly ordered, and easy to dip into on the course page. The downside is that it is mostly a phrase-based course, so you should not expect deep grammar teaching, detailed cultural notes, or real conversation practice. It is best as a starter resource or review tool, not a complete long-term Vietnamese program.
