A free directory of 25+ live Vietnamese radio stations with news, talk, music, and regional broadcasts for authentic listening practice.
Radio Free Asia’s Vietnamese service is a free current-affairs radio resource for learners who want real, native-speed news rather than lessons. Its live listening page carries an evening broadcast at 9 p.m. Vietnam time, with recent programs and downloadable or on-demand audio also available.
The programming centers on Vietnamese politics, economics, society, human rights, interviews, and commentary. You get formal news vocabulary, a range of speakers, and repeated exposure to names and issues in context. The regular bulletins and longer discussions work well for focused listening or background immersion.
This is not a teaching course. You do not get graded levels, vocabulary notes, exercises, or speaking practice, and the pace will be tough if you are new to Vietnamese. RFA is funded by the U.S. Congress and presents itself as an uncensored alternative news service, so it is wise to compare important stories with other outlets rather than use it as your only source.
