r/learnvietnamese is a public Reddit community for people learning Vietnamese, from complete beginners to heritage speakers who want to improve accuracy. You post a question or sample sentence, and other learners plus native speakers jump in with explanations and corrections.

Most threads are practical: pronunciation and tones, spelling and diacritics, grammar patterns, and “how do I say this?” questions. You will also see people sharing Anki decks, YouTube channels, textbooks, and study routines, so it can be a useful place to discover resources you would not find in a single course. What it does not do well is structured learning. There is no curriculum, and answer quality varies by who happens to reply. If you want consistent speaking practice or a step by step plan, you will still need a course or tutor, and use the subreddit as a support channel for quick feedback.
