About the Resource Finder

The Resource Finder is a short quiz that turns a few choices into a personal shortlist. Tell it your level, your dialect, the formats you actually enjoy, and what you want to focus on. It pulls from the same Library and Media catalog and shows the resources that match.

The point is to skip the part where you scroll through hundreds of resources wondering which one is for you. The filters in the catalog can do this too — the finder just walks you through them in plain language and asks the questions in the right order.

It's most useful when you're starting from zero, or when you're switching gears: moving from a beginner app to your first podcast, or from a textbook to native YouTube. If you already know what you want, skip the quiz and head straight to the Library or Media and use the sidebar filters directly.

FAQ

The Resource Finder asks you a small number of questions about your level, dialect, formats, focus skills, and budget. Each answer narrows the catalog of resources we have reviewed. When you finish, you see a shortlist that matches your choices, ordered so the most relevant resources appear first.

The shortlist is drawn from the same reviews you can read in the Library and Media sections. Each resource has notes on content depth, audio quality, dialect coverage, and whether it still works well in 2026. The finder does not invent recommendations or pull them from third parties.

If you see too many results, redo the quiz with stricter choices, for example pick a single dialect or a single format. If you see too few, loosen the filters by choosing no preference for format, skills, or budget. You can also browse the Library or Media directly and use the sidebar filters to fine-tune.

Yes. If you have never studied Vietnamese, choose Beginner. If you know how to greet someone, count, and read a few simple words, you are still likely a beginner. Intermediate is a good fit once you can hold short conversations on familiar topics. Advanced is for learners who can follow native conversation, news, or media without relying on subtitles.

Some are free, some are paid, and some are freemium. The finder includes a budget question so you can ask for free resources only, or include paid options if you are willing to invest in a textbook, course, or app subscription. Pricing is shown on each resource page.
