Description
Elementary Vietnamese is a free, community-made Anki deck for beginners who want Northern Vietnamese vocabulary practice. It suits you if you already use Anki and prefer a ready-made review deck rather than creating cards yourself.
The deck contains 70 cards adapted from the first seven flash-card sets for Tuttle's Elementary Vietnamese. Each vocabulary item includes an English meaning, two to four short example phrases or sentences, and native audio. You review the cards with Anki's spaced-repetition scheduling, and the material moves from easier items toward harder ones.
The examples give you more context than a simple word list and make the deck useful for listening, reading, vocabulary, and pronunciation review. Its main weakness is scope. The creator planned to convert all 14 sets but confirmed in July 2025 that the second half was still unfinished. There are no full grammar lessons or real conversation activities, so it works best beside a textbook, class, or tutor rather than as a complete course.
