DLI Vietnamese Language Phonology Course (Live Lingua)
DLI Phonology Drills
This is a free phonology module from the Defense Language Institute Vietnamese Basic Course, hosted by Live Lingua. It is best for beginners who want structured pronunciation and tone drills, and for returning learners who want to clean up their sound system.
You get a 62-page PDF plus five audio drill sections (about 170 minutes total). The site lets you read the PDF, play the audio, and record yourself in the same place, or you can download the files for offline practice. Start here: DLI Vietnamese Language Course - Phonology.
What it does well is repetition and ear training. You can listen, imitate, then compare your recording to the model audio, which is exactly what many learners need for tones and tricky consonants.
Where it falls short is that it is an old government course (compiled prior to 1975), so it is not modern, chatty Vietnamese. It is also narrowly focused on sound practice, so you will still need another resource for vocabulary, grammar, and real conversation feedback.
