Truyện ngắn Việt Nam (Wikisource)

Edit this resource

This is a Wikisource (Wikimedia) category page that links to a collection of Vietnamese short stories. It’s best for learners who want real, literary Vietnamese to read, and don’t mind looking up words as they go.

You get a list of 55 works (for example, “Chí Phèo” and other well-known pieces), each as a separate page you can read in your browser. Wikisource also supports exporting pages for offline reading (PDF and other formats), which is handy if you like reading on an e-reader or printing.

What it doesn’t do is “teach.” There are no graded levels, vocabulary lists, translations, or exercises built in, and story difficulty varies a lot. If you’re a beginner, you’ll probably want a graded reader first, then come back to this for extensive reading and exposure to classic style prose.
