Refold

Refold is an immersion-first study system. It’s best if you like learning through real content and want a clear plan from beginner basics to comfortable listening and speaking.

The core is the free Roadmap, organized into stages with specific activities like active immersion, passive listening, light grammar for comprehension, and Anki-based vocabulary and sentence mining. You can start with the simplified version at refold.la/simplified or use the more detailed archive at refold.la/roadmap.

If you want more structure, Refold also sells courses and runs group coaching programs, and it offers a free time tracker in its web app (time tracker page). They also sell premade vocabulary and minimal-pairs decks meant for Anki-style study (deck catalog).

Where it falls short is that Refold does not teach Vietnamese directly like a traditional Vietnamese course. You still have to pick your own Vietnamese materials and stay consistent, and some of the paid offerings can be pricey compared with using the free Roadmap plus your own media.
