Fluent Fiction

Fluent Fiction Vietnamese is a daily story podcast for learners who want lots of listening practice with built-in English support. It works best if you already know some basics and want to get more comfortable understanding real sentences.

Each episode starts with a short story in Vietnamese, then replays it sentence by sentence while alternating Vietnamese and English. On the Vietnamese episode page, you can also read the transcript and study a curated vocabulary list for that story, which makes it easier to review what you missed.

There’s a free option through the public podcast feeds, and a paid “Plus” tier (sold via the site/app) that focuses on things like ad-free listening and full catalog access. The big downside is that it’s not a structured course. You won’t get grammar lessons, exercises, or real conversation practice, so you may want to pair it with a textbook or tutor.
