Elementary Vietnamese Grammar

Edit this resource

Elementary Vietnamese Grammar is a small Blogspot site that posts a 30-unit “contrastive” grammar workbook for Vietnamese learners. It is best if you already know the basics and want clearer distinctions between similar words and patterns you keep mixing up.

Each unit groups commonly confused items and explains how they differ, using lots of Vietnamese example sentences with English translations. Units end with written exercises like fill-in-the-blanks and error correction, so you can practice the contrasts right away. You can start at Unit 1 and move through in order, or jump straight to a topic you struggle with on the blog homepage.

What it does well is repetition and clarity around near-synonyms and tricky particles, not conversation. There is no audio, no speaking practice, and it does not provide an answer key, so it works best if you can check your work with a teacher, a study partner, or another reference.
