Colloquial Vietnamese (Colloquial Languages)
Textbook Dialogue Audio
Colloquial Vietnamese (audio) is a free set of MP3 recordings that goes with the Routledge textbook Colloquial Vietnamese: The Complete Course for Beginners. It’s best for beginners using the book who want reliable audio for the dialogues and reading passages.
On the official Colloquial Languages site you can stream tracks in the browser or download the audio as a complete bundle, plus separate “Audio 1” and “Audio 2” collections. The recordings are made by native speakers, so you can shadow, repeat, and check your pacing and tones against a consistent model. You can start here on the official audio page.
The big limitation is that this is not a standalone course. There are no lessons on the site, no explanations, and no built-in practice beyond playback, so you will need the textbook for transcripts, translations, and exercises. Also, the site does not clearly label the dialect or accent used in the recordings, so it’s not ideal if you are specifically targeting Northern, Central, or Southern Vietnamese.
