Bilingual Audio Readers

Edit this resource

Beelinguapp’s Vietnamese resource is a reading-first app: you learn by working through bilingual stories and articles, with Vietnamese alongside your native language. It’s a good fit if you want lots of comprehensible input and you like learning through short texts rather than step-by-step grammar lessons.

The core feature is parallel text plus audio. You can listen to Vietnamese narration while the text scrolls karaoke-style, which is useful for connecting spelling to sound and practicing pronunciation. The library includes stories, news-style articles, and some kid-friendly content, and you can sort by level (Beginner to Advanced). You can preview what it’s like on their Learn Vietnamese page.

For vocabulary, the app highlights key words and lets you tap words to add them to your personal glossary, then review them with flashcards. Many texts also end with short quizzes, which helps a bit with comprehension and retention.

What it doesn’t do well is speaking practice. There’s no real conversation, teacher feedback, or structured course path, so you’ll likely want to pair it with a speaking-focused resource. Also, a free version exists, but full access is gated behind subscriptions and promos can vary by platform.
