French Dialogue Course

Links

Assimil’s Vietnamese is a self-study course for beginners that teaches through short dialogues and step by step notes. It is best if you can read French, since the main “With Ease” book and the e-course use French as the base language.

The print course is a large book called “Le vietnamien” with 92 lessons. Each lesson is built around a dialogue, with explanations and translation-style exercises, aiming to get you from A1-A2 toward an intermediate level if you study regularly.

Audio is sold separately as either 2 CDs or an MP3 download, and it includes the lesson texts plus the translation exercises recorded by native speakers. There is also an “e-méthode Vietnamien” downloadable app version with extra features like revision lessons, searchable lexicons, and interactive audio exercises.

Two practical downsides: Vietnamese materials on Assimil’s own store have been listed as out of stock, and the digital platform gets mixed user feedback. If you want a straightforward dialogue-first routine, start at the official catalog page on Assimil’s site and check which formats are actually available to buy.
